New Frequency Brings Rock to Thousands More Listeners Across the Ozarks

Springfield, MO – [October 7, 2025] – Springfield’s top rock station is getting a massive signal boost and a new spot on the dial. Q102 is now Q92.9, broadcasting on a powerful new 50,000-watt signal—ten times stronger than before—reaching thousands of new listeners across the Ozarks.

“Q102 has consistently performed as a top 5 station, even on a signal that was mainly limited to the Springfield metro area,” said Brian Tyndall, General Manager of Mid-West Family Springfield. “On the new 92.9 dial position, Q will now be heard in over a dozen more Ozarks counties.”

The move from 102.1 FM to 92.9 FM marks a significant upgrade for the station, expanding its reach far beyond the city limits. With the improved signal strength, Q92.9 will bring its signature mix of rock music from the 1990s to now to a broader and more diverse audience across Southwest Missouri.

Listeners can continue to enjoy the Lex and Terry Morning Show, a longtime fan favorite and ratings leader since 2004. Q92.9 also features well-known local DJs Uli Gulje, Randy Crews, and Leslie Tucker, who bring a mix of rock, community connection, and entertainment to the airwaves every day.

Q92.9 is owned and operated by Mid-West Family Springfield, a locally-focused media group that also operates three additional radio stations and the Around the Ozarks podcast network.
